  • From Nicks Dad, Steve:

Things are going well for Nick these days at Walter Reed - Bethesda, MD. He has settled into his apartment here and is gaining more independence every day. (He hasn't got to the point of making me supper or doing the dishes yet........wait, come to think of it, he didn't do that before he was wounded....) Anyway we are still running this marathon journey and it is going well. His strength is improving. Lifting weights and doing cardio workouts. Have not started fitting him for prothetic legs yet due to some pesky sores that are healing slow. It is a real inspiration living amoung these warriors as they battle back from their injuries. As we've mentioned before, the medical staff is extrodinary with these guys! Nick now has an address:
    1LT Nicholas Vogt
    WRNMMCB/ Postal Operations
    Box #50013
    8901 Wisconsin Ave.
    Bethesda, MD 20889-5600

Good news all 'round. They'll take good care of him at Walter Reed.

In November, when Nick began his long journey, a vigil candle was lit in his home church with the full intent and faith that Nick would be the one to someday blow it out.. This Sunday, Nick was able to be home to do that. We have an amazing God. He is so worthy of our praise.

Update on Sean Karpf, they were able to operate and save his leg. There is blood flow to his toes, his leg is in a halo. He is going to be transported to Walter Reed sometime soon. Please continue to pray.

Also, Skyped with our son this morning. Seems Yoko has missed most of the bad part of the Class 5 Hurricane and barely felt the 4.6 earthquake from yesterday. Lot's of rain, wind and swaying buildings (thank goodness for earthquake codes!), but everything seemed to be calming down a bit when we last talked a couple of hours ago.  However, keep the Sasebo Base in your prayers as they met the hurricane head on, and the Sendai area as the earthquake was a 6.4 for them...they've had more than their fair share. Thanks everyone!

Requesting prayer for my SR Lyndsay B. Roberson as she starts her journey... Left for MEPS this morning and ships out to BC tomorrow afternoon... counting the days and weeks until we are able to go to her PIR.

That is terrible for him and his family. will have our church pray for him  on Sunday. I will let our pastor know.

fishdad, all we need is his first name, the Father knows who he is.  Will lift him up in prayer as we do with Heath and Nick and all the others.  Thanks for letting us know so we can be part of his prayer team.
