nick

• Today has been a good day. It was nice to have yesterday as a day of rest, but in all honesty I think Nick does better when he's got a rigid schedule in front of him. He tends to "feel down" if he's not working at something - feels like he's not making progress, I guess. Not the case today, another full day of all four therapies that are one hour each. He ate a good supper, and his evening was topped off with another nice, hot shower. The boy just loves water . . in him and on him.

hey all, I stopped quick at the library for something to read, to keep my mind of Life. lol reached up and grabbed a book, after all any book would do. It's written by Max Lucado! (one of my Favorites) never read THIS book before (suprised me) "Great Day Every Day" It's the perfect book for me right now! God put this in my hands!! and being Holy Week, it's even BETTER. I suggest it to everyone.

update on Nick

• More recovery for Nick. Today was a full day of therapy. Psychology (emotional), kinesiotherapy (muscular), occupational therapy (day to day functions), physical therapy (motion), speech therapy (mental). He worked on rolling over today - not easy when there are no legs to help. He got his first shower since Afghanistan. He loved it. (Thanks to his wonderful nurse - thats alot of work.) A package arrived for him today from the History Channel offices in New York. It had several American Pickers and Pawn Stars items in it. He thought it was great. (Watching AP with him right now. This show is addicting.) (Steve)

blondie,

Our sermon last Sunday was about truly giving it up to God.  Our priest commented on how when brought to our knees,  we from West Texas tend to want to pull ourselves up by our bootstraps.  We need to let it be God who pulls us up.

He will cover you with His feathers
And under His wings you will find refuge.
Psalm 91:4

as I stated earlier, I keep giving it to God, but then picking it up again....I know I am not the only one who struggles with this, and I know my Amazing God understands and is using this to prune, teach, guide....something Wonderful will come of this.  thanks for the reminder and prayers.  I WILL NOT GIVE UP
