Wow, Nick had a very busy day today. I was so proud of him because he cooperated to the best of his ability. This wasn't easy either because everything involved either pain or discomfort. He is such a trooper! (and he wonders why I am constantly saying, "Nick, you are truly one of the strongest men I know."

God can take total disaster and turn it into total victory. “With God we will gain the victory, and He will trample down our enemies.” Psalms 60:12

• What a good day for Nick! He went for nearly 13 hours off of the vent, and the doctors said his chest x-ray looked better today than its looked in a long time. I found out yestersay that the patron saint of respiratory problems is St. Bernardine. I definitely think he heard our extra prayers last night! Hoping for another good day tomorrow.

I'm SO Happy!

Sat.

Today was a quiet but good day for Nick. He was off the vent and breathing on his own for 8 hours today. He also took an enjoyable wheel chair ride to one of the rehab facilities. The therapist was telling about a trip she is taking tomorrow with 16 wounded warriors. They're going on a skiing trip out west. Nick looked at me and said, "Let's go Mom!". (I love that boy!)

Sun.

Another quiet day for Nick and Steve and I. He went another eight hours off of the vent (yea!). He stayed awake to watch most of the half time show, but is sleeping soundly right now. I guess he really doesn't care who wins the game. You can expect to see Steve at home this week. He'll drive home tomorrow and then head back to Bethesda to be with Nick and I over the weekend. I know I'll be scared and nervous without him, but he really needs to get home so our family can start to have some normalcy. Thank you for your continued prayers.

Praising God for continued answers to prayer for Nick - Tonights update:

This was a good day for Nick. He was breathing on his own for over 4 hours today. It went good for him. His fevers are getting fewer and further between. A sign that the infection is reducing (I hope). He looks healthier. Our prayers for healing continue to be answered. Prayers of thanks continue. BTW....Mother is back, so there won't be any sweat collecting on his forehead. (Steve)

Nick had a good day yesterday. They did not try him "off the vent". The trial may be today. He is still making progress. (Steve)
