Hope this blesses our heart like it has ours...

Nick had one of those "best day ever" days. (My words not his.) He woke up this morning and we had our "morning chat", which always starts out with me asking,"Do you know where you are at?" Anyway - this morning he asked me, "When can I go to America?". I told him that he was in America right now and he broke down crying and pumping his fist in the air lip-yelling, "Yes!" Then he said,"I didn't think I would make it." Then I started crying with him. (We were quite a sight.) Later in the day the President of the Unformed Services University of the Health Sciences payed a visit to Nick's room and told him that the University is granting Nick a waiver of admissions. This is a very generous offer to Nick that left us kind of stunned. It will allow him time to get fully rehabilitated and still have a seat at this med school which he was scheduled to start at this coming summer. When we explained the offer to Nick it was another lip-yell, "Yes"! It was another good day for Nick. More answered prayers. God is good. (Steve)

Prayers are with your wife and her family.  And for you also.  Praying for the peace that only the Lord can provide.

While I read each and every post on this Group I never joined, thinking I would never need the outstanding help this Group Provides. As you can see I joined today.

I would like to ask you to keep my Wife and her Family in your Thought, Hearts and Prayers. Just a few minutes ago I received a phone call that her Brother had just passed away. She went to Oklahoma yesterday to be with him and was there with him when he passed. They are a very close family and I know they would appreciate your Prayers in this their time of sorrow. I just wish I could be there with my Wife as she grieves and assure her that all things happen for a reason.

I hope I don't repeat today's update, but right now I'm at the hospital (taking the late shift)and Steve is back at the Fisher House getting some sleep. I'll stay late tonight and then Steve will come in early tomorrow morning. This way there's less time for Nick to wake up and not see one of us there. I know it doesn't seem like much but it's all we can do. Again, Nick had a fairly restful day (and night, we hope). He had another CT done today, so we're hoping on good results from that. Again, thank you for all of your prayers for Nick, for all wounded warriors and for all those who selflessly serve.

I'd ask that you keep Navy Dad Brandon's son Mike in your prayers as well. He is having knee surgery Wednesday (Japan time..Tuesday night, our time)

Thanks all!

latest on Nick, keep praying it's helping. and they really appreciate it.

So far it has been a rather restful day for Nick which is a good thing considering yesterday was anything but restful. Let's just say, by the time Steve and I left his room last night, we were smoked. During the night (Friday) he had pulled out his feeding tube while he was in a confused/non cooperative state. Anyway, not only does he receive food thru this, but he also receives some of his medications thru it as well. He had gotten very little sleep and his medication schedule was out of whack. All this led to a very unhappy, confused and hard-to-satisfy soldier. Believe me, we welcome his relaxation today. The feeding tube is back in now, so hopefully his schedule will get back on track. The doctors are still optimistic about the results of the lung surgery on Friday, and his lungs sound clearer than they have in quite a while. Again, we can't say enough good things about the entire medical staff here at Walter Reed.
.

My sailor made it home saturday morning!!!  looks wonderful, busy weekend, work was crazy today, I'll work tomorrow and then be gone for a week, my prayers for your family will continue.
