Singing God's Praises and Thanks for Nick's progress! Amen

Post from Nick's dad, Steve....What a great day. New pain med seems to be working good. Nick seems a little clearer. There were several big smiles from him today. (None were for any of my jokes. Situation normal.) He got his new wheelchair today. A powered model. They put him in it for a 20 minute trial sit but he wanted to stay in it longer so he went for an hour. What a stud. Didn't turn the power on though. He needs some additional training before he throws it into gear. He got his first wet bath today - these nurses are awesome. He has been setup to administer his own pain meds with the push of a button. He still needs some work on this. His hands need to be limbered up a bit. That and when he did get the switch into position he pushed it every 30 seconds. (It can only give a dose every 10 minutes) We might have to work on the patience thing a little more. Praise God for more answered prayers. Also please include prayers for a couple more wounded warriors that arrived this evening into ICU. (Steve)

another Praise!

Post from Nick's dad, Steve.....I think today was another day of improvement for Nick. Surgery was postponed until Wednesday due to the medication calibration challenges. It seems like the proper med levels are now worked out. He had a fairly clear afternoon and evening. We had a nice discussion about his "sucky" situation. I did the talking, he knodded and eye-rolled. I told Nick about what Fr. Mike said about Nick's current trials and relating it to Jesus falling under His cross during His passion. I think it made Nick feel good to believe that his current suffering could somewhat be compared to the pain that Jesus felt. He is being strong. I'm very proud of him. (Steve)

Thanks be to God!  I know he must be nuts wanting to get back to the Navy.  I also have a list and pray for them daily. I will pass this great news on so we can all Praise God and give him Thanks for His Faithfulness.  Tell Health, we are all PROUD of him and are pulling for him to get back to work and a regular routine soon.  I know it's hard on them to be sitting on the sidelines.

I do NOT mind!  I appreciate your Faithfulness and desire to help and pray for this young man. I can always use the help keeping up, life and needs keep piling up.  If you run across any others please let me know.  Don't forget our MIA and POW's! and of course our KIA families......sorry tears.....we lost one in Nam and it's still hard...........

So glad to hear an update on Tom. We continue to pray for him as well. And I am glad to hear that your Sailors received what we sent them. Hope it blessed them a bit. Their names are on our fridge door and they get prayed for every day.

Blondie, no problem about the update on Nick. I just happened to notice that you hadn't posted that one and thought I would. I know that you said your only computer was at work so I hope you don't mind that I copied and pasted the facebook update.

Heath is doing very well. He started PT yesterday and this morning the doc told him that he had NEVER had anyone ask 3 days out of surgery how soon they could get back to work. He's way ahead of schedule as far as recovery is going. We're praising God. Heath is chomping at the bit to get back to work!

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." - Jeremiah 29:11

his time of the year is all about celebration, joy, and hope. The birth of Jesus is an event that changed the world forever and led way for the death and resurrection of Him. It gave us Salvation, which gives us purpose, hope, and meaning. Thank you, Lord!

Praising God with Loud voices.

Post from Nick's dad, Steve......Nick has a short surgery today. He has become very "sleepy" since last evening. He had his pain med changed yesterday. This is probably the reason for his sleepiness. (I hope) Yesterday morning he asked me to take him home but I told him I could not do it because he is not well enough yet. However I said that I would ask the doctors if he could go out of his room in a "wheelchair" (It is actually like a skinny hospital bed. The doctor said yes and the nurses did a great job of creating a moving ICU. We went down the hall - down the elevator - past the emergency room desk - and into the parking lot. Road trip! Nick liked it. Got to feel the sun on his face and the cool - er, cold - breeze.
