Praying for Nick's speedy recovery...

Post from Nick's dad, Steve.....Nick made more progress today. He is still in ICU but they think he may be good enough by Monday or Tuesday to move to an "in-patient" room. He spent some time today "off the ventalator" to breath on his own and strengthen his lungs. (It's been a month since he had to breath on his own.) It freaked him out alittle at first but once he calmed down it went well. He's back on the vent so he can rest tonight and get ready for another day of strengthening work tomorrow. His bed was adjusted to hold him up fairly straight to give him the feeling of setting in a wheelchair for a couple hours today. He didn't like it at first but once he understood why he was asked to do it he sucked it up and carried on. The beard trimming was a success he is now sporting a gotee. He had about 3 hours of rest time this afternoon. I fixed him up with some Zac Brown Band music through some headphones. He liked that. Off to church tomorrow to give thanks, because God is good

Post from Nick's mom, Sheila.....I just returned from the hospital to my room at the Fisher House. It's been a long day. They took out Nick's line for dialysis (which is a blessing because it means his kidneys are working properly). Please pray for Nick's comfort and peace right now. His frustration at being in the ICU (for over a month) is definitely starting to take a toll on him. We so look forward to the day he is officially off of the vent - then he will be able to talk to us (because even with all of this practice, we're still not very good at reading lips.) I did have one highlight today . . . that was when he looked at me and said, "Mom, thank you. I love you." (I could definitely lip read that!

Amen!  thank you Paul.  my mom died of MS and it's true it takes you little by little until on day you cannot breathe.  I was there......I Praise God every day that I had her as long as I did.  I look to my future a little sscared, but sure in the Love of our God.

Hugs April.

I think you should at least write her a letter.  That way you KNOW you did the right thing, what you could....you never know until you try....maybe she is ready and just afraid, ashamed....God will know that you tried, you will know that you tried....don't wait until it's too late.

Giving is what Christmas is all about. Giving of ourselves, Giving our hearts, our Love.....you will find giving trees all around, or adopt an orphan, nursing home, hospital, military unit, the need is here we just have to open our eyes and our hearts.

Merry Christmas

OMG blondie that is such a beautiful story.  And one we can all share in.   Christmas gifts are all bought, but next year, I think my husband will find a white envelope, for he also hates the commercialism surrounding this blessed holiday.  Thank you so much for sharing.  I intend to post in my FB page.

blondie you are right about needing to forgive.  Unfortunately, the person in my life that I would like to forgive and tell her I forgive her, would tell me to f*** off.  She will not recognize the damage she has done to me.  Perhaps I need to call anyway and let her spew her hate.  Someday I'll be ready to even if she isn't

There is no pillow so soft as a clear conscience.
Proverb

"Love prospers when a fault is forgiven, but dwelling on it separates close friends." - Proverbs 17:9

Is there someone in your life that you've fallen out with? This time of the year is an especially great time to show forgiveness. Like Proverbs 17 says, love prospers when we forgive. Is there someone you need to call? Are you dialing yet?
