we had a great weekend, hope youall did also.

Nick had a couple resful days, his family watched the Navy/army game at his bed-side. she's yesterdays post.

from Nick's mom, Sheila.....Another restful day for Nick today, he needs all he can get before it's back to the OR tomorrow. Fortunately it will be a short surgery day then hopefully more resting. Biggest concern now is fighting his infections and getting his lungs strengthened back up so he can get rid of the trake which is causing him much frustration since he can't talk with it. He had many visitors today with old classmates being in town for the army navy game. Just Liv and I met with them since he is still very weak and also has moments of confusion with the brain surgery he had last week. Keep the prayers coming he still has a very long way to go, doctors told us today he has proved them wrong medically many times (in a good way) and we pray he will continue to pleasantly surprise them even more! Our parish priest from "back home" is paying us a visit tomorrow. He will come and anoint Nick, and we will certainly be very glad to see him.

Jim,

When this all began they gave Heath a Lim Du (Limited Duty) Date. It's the amount of time the Navy is giving him to be back to 100%. He needs to be ready to go back to full time service on the ship by Feb 12. If not, they will want to give him a discharge. He would have to ask for a Medical Board Review at that point. We're really praying that they consider all of the circumstances and the fact that he wants to stay in.

And thanks everyone for praying. We appreciate it.

Scott and I wanted to ask if you all could keep Heath in your prayers this week. He is finally having his knee surgery on Wednesday. Doc said he's fairly certain that it's a torn meniscus and possibly a problem with the patella. They said to expect a 3 month recovery...which will take him past his Lim Du date...not good.

Thanks everyone.

Blondie,

Thanks for keeping us updated on Nick. I haven't been responding on here much, however, I have been reposting and keeping alot of people updated on how he is doing. I really appreciate you taking the time each day to let us know how he is.

Hope you're having a good weekend.

And YES...GO NAVY!!!!!!

Good Morning and GO NAVY!

Post from Nick's dad, Steve.....A hard day, but a good day for Nick today. It was a long day in surgery today. (The longest so far.) The procedures went good. The stomach wound is almost closed (yeah). The leg wounds are closed (yeah & yeah). The sensor that was in the brain is no longer needed and was removed. (yeah) Olivia and Luke arrived today and are now pouring their love on him. He and his care team made some great progress. I don`t believe that Nick feels that way right now but the rest of us know that it was progress. Prayers of thanksgiving and a peaceful night of sleep for Nick. Go Army! Beat Navy! (Steve)

this first one, Really touched my heart.

MOSES AND THE RED SEA

Nine-year-old Joey was asked by his mother what he had learned in Sunday School.

"Well, Mum, our teacher told us how God sent Moses behind enemy lines on a rescue mission to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. When he got to the Red Sea, he had his army build a pontoon bridge and all the people walked across safely. Then he radioed headquarters for reinforcements. They sent bombers to blow up the bridge and all the Israelites were saved."

"Now, Joey, is that really what your teacher taught you?" his Mother asked.

"Well, no, Mum, but, if I told it the way the teacher did, you'd never believe it!"

THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD

A Sunday School teacher decided to have her young class memorize one of the most quoted passages in the Bible - Psalm 23. She gave the youngsters a month to learn the chapter.

Little Rick was excited about the task - but he just couldn't remember the Psalm. After much practice, he could barely get past the first line.

On the day that the kids were scheduled to recite Psalm 23 in front of the congregation, Ricky was so nervous. When it was his turn, he stepped up to the microphone and said proudly, "The Lord is my Shepherd, and that's all I need to know."

Thank you Paul, I continue to let them know NavyDads and NavyforMoms are praying.

these are too cute not to share.

Funny Things Kids Have Said
LOT 'S WIFE

The Sunday School teacher was describing how Lot's wife looked back and turned into a pillar of salt, when little Jason interrupted, "My Mother looked back once while she was driving," he announced triumphantly, "and she turned into a telephone pole!"

GOOD SAMARITAN

A Sunday school teacher was telling her class the story of the Good Samaritan. She asked the class, "If you saw a person lying on the roadside, all wounded and bleeding, what would you do?"

A thoughtful little girl broke the hushed silence, "I think I'd throw up."

DID NOAH FISH?

A Sunday school teacher asked, "Johnny, do you think Noah did a lot of fishing when he was on the Ark?"

"No," replied Johnny. "How could he, with just two worms."

HIGHER POWER

A Sunday school teacher said to her children, "We have been learning how powerful Kings and Queens were in Bible times. But, there is a Higher Power. Can anybody tell me what it is?"

One child blurted out, "Aces!"

I Loved this so thought I'd pass it on

(1 Th 5:11 NKJV) Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.

Learning to lean on each other, share each other's burdens and help each other is a huge part of being in the body of Christ.

God has made us a body for that very reason. He wants us to go to each other when we're in need.

He wants us to help each other when we see someone suffering or struggling.
We were not designed to go through life alone. We were not designed to go through trials and struggles alone. We should draw our strength from God, but we also need to learn to draw from one another.

God has placed things within each of us that are valuable to others in the body of Christ. We just need to let Him teach us when to use those gifts.

If you're hurting or struggling today, reach out to someone who can encourage you. If you know someone who is hurting or struggling, ask God what you can do for them, and then do it.

Love each other. Encourage each other and lift each other up, in the name of Jesus.
