bootcamp is normally 8 weeks PLUS processing days unless a sailor is assigned to what is called a PUSH division....those are shorter (about 7 weeks). note holidays can increase the duration to 9 weeks.

My son was there 10 weeks, I think the holidays slowed them up.

Well my son arrived on Jan 18th and his PIR is March 11th So not sure if he is in a push group or not but by my calculations that's 7 1/2 weeks including his processing days.

Can someone explain what a push division is? My SR has a PIR date 1 day short of 8 weeks from his arrival at the RTC.

Our son's first day was Feb 15, he graduates on April 15th. That's what 11 weeks!!! OMG :O I need to check into this.
