[PIR - ( Pass In Review )]

This Discussion is intended as a place where parents and other loved ones who have SRs with a PIR of 30 November to gather and meet-and-greet and talk about this adventure.  Of course, I suppose anyone is welcome. 

If anyone knows of others on facebook and navyformoms.com, please direct them this way, too.

Hopefully, this will be a place where we can share stories about phonecalls and letters from our SRs. 

And I look forward, already, to meeting all of y'all at PIR.

Attention on deck!

From RTC:

There will be FIFTEEN divisions graduating Nov. 30th. RTC is abiding by the policy that Active Duty/military retirees and children twelve and under do not count toward the 4 invitations each recruit receives. However, if an individual is not on the access list they will NOT be able to enter the drill hall (NO stand by). Please plan on arriving at least two hours before the ceremony, which begins promptly at 9 a.m. Thanks to all for your continued support of Recruit Training Command, the Navy's only boot camp!

My SR has been in boot camp since Oct. 3rd. We have still not received a letter or phone call either.

A little Navy trivia; did you know all those ships listed above have been ships that have been decommissioned?

not true....as examples- Enterprise (at least the current one) is currently on last deployment,  Theodore Roosevelt is coming out of RCOH and should return to the fleet within the year

I have not received any personal mail from him yet-- beyond the original form letter with PIR info.  How about you???  Has anyone received a letter yet?

I'm in the same boat, Jack...no personal letters, no calls yet.  My son is also in 802.  Hopefully, tomorrow.

To all of you moms and dads who have not received a letter...  do you know if your sons or daughters might have a boyfriend or girlfriend that they might have been more inclined to write to first.  Just saying this because my Fiance is in Great Lakes now, PIR 30 NOV 12 , SHIP 04 DIV 021 and I know he sent me the official form letter and wrote me before he wrote his parents.  You might wanna check with their girlfriend/boyfriend or Fiance.

This is true my SR wrote to his girlfriend before he wrote to me I'm just glad he wrote he doesn't like to write he would rather TEXT

I hear you, but no significant other in my son's life right now.  I'm sure he'll write/call home as soon as he is allowed.
