question about eagle pin on sons collar
Was great to see my sons pic today in div 268 and see that he has a pin with what looks like an eagle on his left collar and was wondering what it is for? i only saw that a few recruits have them... thanks a proud Dad

I couldn't find a picture of the one with only one stripe. I sounds like he is a Recruit Petty Officer. I believe he has been given some responsibility as a leader.

it looks like a petty officer 3rd class E-4 rank when i look up on Navy ranks..... what rank do Recruit come out of Boot Camp?

The rank pin is only for Boot Camp. They can graduate anywhere between E-1/E 3 depending upon a number of things.
