So, I haven't heard from FC1 Officer in some time. I deleted all the info here because it is probably wildly out of date. When I can get more current information I will post it here again. I'll see if my son can get me some new information.

Hey Mary,
I think Chris is done. He had planned on finishing on Friday, but I guess an equipment room got flooded and had to be shut down, so he said he had about 2hrs left which he planned to do today.

I'm hoping they see orders next week when the new budget kicks in...

Another new week ahead of us -- perhaps we will see some orders come in, A school graduations or ...another ship deploy.

Hope everyone is well.

Mary nothing wrong with going to the sand box we all worry but the bottom line is now as when I served in the 70's we all wrote a blank check to our country to be able to keep and guarantee the freedoms that we all cherish for ourselves and those that we love
Remember we are still a nation at war

Clay,
Good for Ang but lots of college kids are trying to get in today and the recruitment numbers are getting so slim that many are not finding the open door they were hoping for. Nick did a few semesters of college ...half hearted. His mind was not in it but to keep insurance coverage he had limited options. We were delighted when he told us he was talking with a recruiter. Much better fit for him and his dad was an FC for over 10 years so we were very comfortable with his choice.

Why is Ang looking to go to a carrier? Is she at C school now?

Ang joined after 6 months of college, talked to the recruiters on campus they thought she was fulla shit, (no college kids willingly joins up) but tafter 3 months hard work each we she joined and did it... Im so proud, she's did something I cant, and she's seeing it through, next stop carriers!

Welcome Gary,
Two for one program huh?!!! My son and nephew went thru boot camp together too but different divisions, Nick is our FC and my nephew went into the Seabees and unfortunately will be heading to A'stan next month. Get ready for a long but good ride.

Larry - Nick was born in Japan so he really wanted orders there but he will get to visit his birthplace soon as one of their ports and the cool thing is we have a friend who is a retired FCC and he is still there and working on the base in a civilian job so we are excited for him.

I think any high schooler that does their homework and decides the Navy is for them - is to be commended. Our son waited until he was 21 yrs old to be that smart!

Hi all just joining here. My son and nephew just had PIR 9/17 and both are FC's and waiting for their A school and not sure when the next one really starts. But both seem happy was able to stay the whole weekend and had them both days to kind of catch up.

His mother wants HI, James wants Japan and I just want everybody to be happy. The thing about James is he will do his best at whatever the Navy chooses for him. We are proud of him and his decisions about the Navy. He was 17 and came to us and asked to join. We respected the research he did to make that decision and will respect the ones yet to come.

Thanks for the info. I will pass that on to James. I know he will be relieved as he has worked so hard to get to Japan. He is hoping for the right orders to be released but he will gladly accept whatever the Navy offers him. Just like his hoping for ET and getting FC he is so happy the Navy made that choice for him. Like he was telling me last night he and some classmates were talking and just like the ET or FC difference the Navy would be better off getting some of the ET's and FC's to write a letter of what they do for recruits to help them with what they want to do. The Navy would also help the sailors with FC's doing the same with the different systems so coming out of A school they would be better informed as to the system they would want to work on. James did a lot of research and talking to other FC's about systems before he choose AEGIS Computor even though it has the longest school he is looking for a lasting future.
