well all my son ant has half way thru C school at san diego and he tells me the tests are hard but is more relaxed he spends a lot of time in the gym and working out and studying at the end of sept he takes a test to be sec class petty and then gets orders in october when they finish up since being at the top of the class has its perks hell get to pick orders first san diego is not all its cracked up to be for i feel nat will choose hawaii or va to be closer to home but ill know when he tells me keep sending them the packages by mail for one rate surprises are always a lift me up for them from home nat should get orders for a ship them but he knows he is on a frigate and there decomissioning them and selling them so hell end up back in shcool for another weapon training....keep ther spirits up when u talk to them your support is always a big plus even in this stage. They find out that even some roommates can be worse than living at home lol its funny in a way but welcome to the real world so to say people are different and work through things this has made our son become more a man then anything in his life we are more proud of him as a accomplished sailor as we are what the navy haas done to mature him into an adult with responsiblilities!!!
according to what is written above, there are 3 phases of FC school ...7 then 13 then 3 weeks.....
Hello all,
My son graduated 7/15/11 and is at GL waiting A school. He is, or will be, a FC. He recently moved to another building as his had no AC and was scheduled to be torn down. Kind of anxious to know what is in store for him like how long is his A school, how long is C school etc. Any info is appreciated. Thanks all.
Marcy L - My son Zak also graduated last Friday 7/8. He too is FC, waiting to start ATT. He is currently bunking in the Enterprise while waiting for a permanent berthing assignment.
Marcy, My son graduated from (A)school 9 weeks ago. He just got orders for (C)school, CWIS in Nam Neck, VA. He said that all his class are heading there in September. Including one of his boot camp ship mates.
My son's PIR was 8/6/10 so he has been at GL for almost a year.
Congratulations to your hubby.
Hi Everyone! I just found this forum and was excited to see that there are people who have sailors in the same field. My hubby just graduated last week, so he is currently in great lakes getting ready for school.
I did read some of the posts on here and see many of the sailors are headed off to C School in San Diego. I am from San Diego and i still live here, so if any of you ever need tips or advice i can help :)
Chris graduates tomorrow. Picked orders awhile ago, but I don't think there's any real ryhme or reason to when that happens.
In fact, he still doesn't know if he's going to get leave when he grads, which is kinda crazy I think, seeing as it's one day away? LOL
That's the Navy for ya ;)
