So, I haven't heard from FC1 Officer in some time. I deleted all the info here because it is probably wildly out of date. When I can get more current information I will post it here again. I'll see if my son can get me some new information.

Mary,
Good question...no idea. Will keep you posted :)
While I hope he makes it because he's trying out for it...school is the priority, drill team is a "nice-to-have".

Jim, I wonder if they tell them the same day if they made the team or if will take a day or two?

FC1 Officer -- if you are looking in on us, hearing rumors that FCs are leaving A school and going to the fleet and will attend C school later. Can you clarify if this is the case? It appears the ETs are starting to move thru school now so I was hoping the FCs would see some relief as well. Thanks.

No word from Chris on drill team. I guess tryouts were tonight, instead of yesterday, so I'm also thinking that no news isn't good news, at least in this case.
Maybe he's got more time to study now ;)

Zac picked Spy 2. He wanted ACNT, but it wasn't in the sets of orders that came out. I think he wants the Atlantic Fleet. He really hasn't said much about where he wants to go.

Paul, our son was born in Japan and really wanted orders there but he is enjoying Hawaii :-) What C school is he heading out to?

Jim, I agree with your wife! I wonder if your son is referring to
a C-Ram? I have known a few CIWS FCs that have gone IA and worked on C-Rams. It's good for their advancement and hard as hell on the families.

Paul,
Good for you/him. What did that end up being?
Chris has been talking about this deal where sailors go to Afgahnistan to operate fixed-mount naval weapons systems.
Momma said "NO WAY!!!!"...not sure if he got the message ;)

Great to here Jim and Mary got phone calls. I got a call from Zac. He sounds like he is doing great. He got to pick his C school. What he wanted wasn't in the set of orders, but he took the next best things.

lol - let's hope he's not a bear! Good luck to Chris today.

We received a phone call from our son as well on Father's Day, very special or amazing considering his ship is out in the middle of SOME waterway. I'm amazed at the communications families can enjoy today - tad different then when I was a Navy wife!

Got a call from Chris on Dad's Day...gotta love that. He said things are going well, but they're very busy. His drill team tryouts are this afternoon, 16:00, so we're waiting to see how that goes. He said the guy who decides who gets accepted has been on vaca for 2wks. I told him that could be good OR bad...guy could be nice and relaxed, or could be in a bear of a mood being back at work ;)

So we'll wait to hear tonight.
