  My son Kevin is attending "A" school for damage control. He will be out Dec. 8th. He will be stationed in San Diego assigned to the USS Makin Island LHD-8.
  This is the newest of the LHD series. In Mar '09 he will travel to Pascagola, MS for the final outfitting. Shortly there after the MI will embark on a shake down cruise that will take them down the eastern coast of South America through the straights of Magellan and back up the west coast to SanDiego.

  Welcome to NavyDads Mike ! I'm sure you'll find the site as fun and useful as I have. Explore and make some friends, add your comments to a discussion or two, read the postings in the various groups-- even start one or two. I have! If you have any questions or concerns about your sailor and what he is going through...ask! I'm sure someone here will have the answer or can point you in the right direction to find out. I'm lucky enough to have two sailors- my son Eric is almost two months into a seven-month cruise on the carrier Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) and my daughter Kat just returned from her seven-month cruise on the carrier Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72).   Mike hi thanks for joining I am EG's wife. I saw your son left for BC good luck to him. Is your wife on n4m's? If you have questions about boot camp my son started a group Ask the Sailors go there and ask him anything it really is going to help alot of parents. Thanks again

  Mike - Great to have you with us! I know you will find this site to be a great avenue for information, support, and fun :). When is Kevin due to graduate bootcamp or A-school? Ask us anything because we are happy to share our knowledge or lack there of lol.

  Welcome aboard, Mike! Sounds like you've got a few irons in the fire...and the beginnings of a nice car collection. Have you ever served in the military? I spent some time with the USN in San Diego, and a few weeks in Pt. Mugu. Tell us about your son, Kevin (I like his name!).
