Thanks, I was going to say... well my wife has been in "that city" and informed me that a USS big ship would be very hard to miss.

All good.

Thanks for that. I also received a call yesterday... And reading the OPSEC stuff on here the "ship" is in the "middle east" PERIOD.

I know CVN74 would be hard to miss at its current docking location,,, but OPSEC suggests we be vague. As my son is onboard I agree.

Hi Jim,
As Tim mentioned, if a Tiger is in the works, your sailor will be the first to let you know. These are totally optional for the ship and never a given. I've been lucky to have the first with my youngest son and hope my luck holds now. Even if planned, there is never a guarentee it will happen as everything is subject to change, right up to the last minute. I hope you do get to experience a Tiger, it is well worth the effort, not only from seeing first hand the workings of our Navy, but getting an opportunity to be with a loved one before they hit port and you way to them from the dock as they pull in.

For the Stennis Family, I got a call from my son this morning. The ship is ported in Dubai and all is well. Merry Christmas.

Thanks, I saw the comments from Roger in this thread and thought I better do something to find out whats up. Hopefully they will head west soon.

Jim Beck,

I myself have never been on a Tiger Cruise but i do know that from going through all the information on this website that your sailor will let you know if and when there will be a Tiger Cruise on on eof their deployments. The Tiger Cruise usually happens in the last weeks of deployment of the ship and there is no definate that the Tiger Cruise will happen. My son has been on 3 deployment now and has not had a Tiger Cruise yet. His first deployment the ship had a Tiger Cruise but he was not on the ship at the time as he was home for the passing of a family memeber.

Again your sailor will be getting ahold of you and letting you know if there is room for Tigers on the cruise and when and where it will be taking place.

I have read the security stuff on this website and do not want to miss an opportunity to participate in any Tiger cruise that may or may not happen.

How do I find out about a potential TC in order to book flights, etc.

Thanks,

Jim

didn't have to delete Jeffery...just a reminder to be careful with posting dates.......if you look above the members area, do you have the option to send a message to the group?  Those are not public messages and only go to the group....and while I'd still be careful about what I send, that is an option that limits what can be seen to non-members.....
